Young People’s Parkfield
Involving involve local young people in all that we do
Linking Parkfield House with the young people of Torbay
Parkfield House has long been a beacon for the youth of Paignton and Torbay.
Honouring the wish of Miss Marjorie Cooper, who left her beloved home to the local community in 1991, People’s Parkfield is dedicated to involving young people in everything we do here at Parkfield House.

People’s Parkfield Youth Panel
People’s Parkfield CIC is run by a team of volunteers who make up our steering group.
We have enlisted the help of local young people to help guide us in our decision making to ensure that we deliver on our promise to put young people at the heart of everything we do. So far, young people have helped to design our new logo and branding, put forward their ideas of how our downstairs rooms could look, organised our Library, creating a warm, welcoming room that is ideal for film clubs, games nights etc. and, with the help of our friends from Combe Pafford School, creating a wild meadow to border our front lawn.
If you would like to help imagine the future of the Parkfield Estate including all the facilities here, and help us to bring this vision to life, please contact our Centre Manager Mark – mark@peoplesparkfield.org

Parkfield offers young people
A Voice
Feel confident to have your say and to share your ideas, knowing that we will listen and support your vision for Parkfield and the surrounding area.
A Place to Grow, Learn, and Play
Our vision is to create a hub of opportunity, collaboration, and community, especially for the young people of Paignton and Torbay. We’ve listened to the needs and aspirations of our youth, and we’re committed to providing safe spaces, hosting activities that foster growth and self-worth, and developing skills that prepare them for the future. From climate change awareness to food security, well-being strategies, and social enterprise, we aim to offer a place that truly belongs to them.
Skatepark and BMX Track
Parkfield House boasts fantastic facilities that cater to all ages and abilities. Our skatepark is a popular spot where young people can develop their skills, make new friends, and enjoy the thrill of skating in a safe environment. Additionally, our BMX track regularly hosts competitions, offering an exciting platform for young riders to showcase their talents and compete in a supportive community.
Engagement with the Next Generation
We are passionate about connecting young people with Parkfield. By involving them in our projects and activities, we aim to nurture a sense of ownership and pride in their community. Whether it’s through participating in events, helping with the upkeep of our beautiful grounds, or contributing to our environmental initiatives, there’s a place for every young person at Parkfield House.

Join Us
We invite all young people of Paignton and Torbay to join us in making Parkfield House a vibrant, inclusive, and dynamic community space. Together, we can build a future that honours the past, celebrates the present, and looks forward to a bright tomorrow.
